By artist Seward Johnson, grandson of Robert Wood Johnson I (co-founder of Johnson & Johnson), this 26-foot tall stainless steel and aluminum sculpture of Marilyn Monroe stands 26 feet and weighs 34,000 lbs. It was unveiled on 14 July 2011 and will remain on display in Chicago through the spring of 2012.

A 35,000-pound bronze sculpture at 23 feet tall sitting in front of the Seagram Building at 375 Park Avenue between 52nd and 53rd streets. “Untitled (Lamp/Bear)” is the creation of Swiss artist, Urs Fischer. The sculpture will go up for auction at Christie’s Post-War & Contemporary evening sale on May 11. Christie’s expects it to fetch upwards of $10 million. The bear will remain on view at Seagram Plaza until 30 Sept. It faces the street and is entirely free to see.

A 15-meter (49-foot) head was fixed on a torso with cranes and integrated into a floating stage on Lake Constance near Bregenz, Austria, Thursday. The jaws (182 teeth, 11 feet of width, and more than 8 feet in height), which once belonged to a megaladon, will be placed up for bid in Dallas, Texas in June at the Heritage Auction Galleries. This is said to be the world’s largest shark jaws go up for auction. The asking price is set at $625,000.
